Personal installer for marvin-rse's fork of the community firmware (Waveshare 1.64-inch V1 and V2). Grinders running this firmware check this fork for updates. Source and releases · Community project
Choose by display generation, not the PCB revision text. The newer SH8601 board can still be marked Rev1.1 on the back; a Rev1.1 marking does not mean that the V1/CO5300 firmware is correct. Select Newer SH8601 (V2 firmware) if Waveshare's official v2 demo works on the board, or if the original CO5300 Smart Grind firmware boots with a black display. The two generations also use different grinder wiring.

⚠️ Browser Not Supported

This tool requires Google Chrome for both Web Bluetooth (OTA) and Web Serial (USB) support.

Note: iOS devices and Firefox don't support the required web APIs. Use Chrome for best experience.

🔌 Initial Setup - USB Connection

For first-time installation or when the grinder is easily accessible, use ESP Web Tools to flash firmware via USB.

Your browser does not support installing things on ESP devices. Use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. You can only install ESP devices on HTTPS websites or on the localhost.

📶 OTA Update - Bluetooth Connection

For updates after installation when USB access is limited. Requires firmware to be installed via USB first.

🖼️ Custom Screensaver Image

Upload a custom image to display on startup or when the grinder enters power-saving mode. The image must be exactly 280 x 456 pixels.

⏱️ Screensaver Timing

Set when the screensaver starts and optionally turn the AMOLED panel fully off after an additional delay. Screensaver brightness remains configurable on the grinder.
